It is always a interesting evening when we talk about the development of players at the
Tigers, Pete Riding and Paul Couch gave a review of the current status of the club
Along with the first team the Youth development is improving year on year with players
pushing for first team places in the future, the new gym as been a massive help, the best
youth in the area and beyond are now wanting to join the Tigers.
A culture is being built so every player from scholarship to first team know their role and
what is expected on and off the field. Of course the Youth department department want
more resource which costs money, full time coaches and a bigger squad is high on the wish
list. You all can help by supporting the club in any way you can, but a big request is that
you come and attend a Under 19s game and get behind the team, it really gives the team a
The under 19s are performing very well this season, sitting second in the league and players
making the England squad. Luis and Jacques answered questions about the season so far
and their own personal development. Both Luis and Jacques are enjoying the season, both
are confident they can end with a top four spot and a crack at winning the Grand final.
We then had a in depth view from Tuoyo, Kieran and Tom of being a loan and fringe player,
training with 2 clubs, travel, team spirit and always in the back of the mind performance,
with a view of getting back into the first team squad.
With the success of the first team being patient is the key, both Tom and Keiran have made
the first team in recent weeks, with Keiran picking up a season ending injury, we all wish
Keiran a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him playing again next season.
All the loan players talked highly of the clubs that they played at and although different in
playing style to the Tigers it gave all of them a different and valuable experience.
In the second part of the evening questions were taken from the audience on many varied
subjects, Jacques and Tuoyo talked about how they have come from Cumbria and London, both have settled into the local area very well.
Once again thanks to all our guests and everyone who attended on the evening.
